On Friday, 20.11.2020 the “Nationwide Reading Day” took place. As of every year, our school, the German International School Accra, took part. Despite the difficult conditions of online teaching, we managed to enjoy this day.
All kindergarten children and students were able to greet their readers and then waited anxiously for the stories. It was a great joy to see how captivated and interested everyone listened. In the kindergarten, little stories were read for “Good Night”. They flew with Nils Holgerson and the clouds through the air and followed a little bear. The “robber Hotzenplotz” was a guest in the first and second grade. In addition, the first and second graders were allowed to paint a suitable picture of the robber. Classes 3 and 4 were taken on an odyssey of “Ulysses, into the cave of the Cyclops” and got to know the life there. The classes 5 to 7 had a great time. They had great fun with the adventures of Tom Sawyer and Harry Potter. Also the “suburban crocodiles” were on a secret mission.
Afterwards the students exchanged their reading habits and arranged a book exchange.
Many thanks to all the readers!
