Nursery

Nursery at GISA's Daycare.

Children from the ages of one up have space to grow in a safe and secure family environment. On our green compound with two playgrounds, there is plenty of space to run around, learn and explore. Children aged 1 - 3 years attend the nursery. They then switch to Kindergarten. As part of our nursery programme, we help our children explore language, numbers, music, creativity and science, encourage their desire for movement and raise their awareness of healthy eating. Our educational work is based on the "Thuringian Education Plan". The children are always at the centre of our educational concept. We cover all areas of upbringing and education with selected educational programmes. We have a special time for all children to be present so that they feel part of the group and can participate in the educational programmes. This is in the morning. Our recurring daily routine and our rituals give the children an atmosphere of trust and security.

How it operates

Drop-off time for the nursery is 7.30 am. The nursery programme starts at 7.30 a.m. with a free play phase. The children decide where they would like to play. The nursery teachers support the children in their activities. Our morning circle takes place after the free play phase. This has certain rituals and is mainly organised musically.

We then start with breakfast together, which the children bring from home. This is an important part of the daily routine. Eating breakfast together strengthens the group feeling and togetherness. It enables the children to verbally exchange ideas, laugh, share and show consideration for each other. This is followed by our educational activities, which are prepared around a theme. We go to the playground every day. The nursery children have access to a toddler garden and the kindergarten playground.

The children eat lunch together in the group at around 11.15 am. The food is served by the "Swiss Club" restaurant, which is located right next to the school. After lunch, the children brush their teeth.

Children who are not registered at the centre in the afternoon are collected from their group at 12:30 pm. After brushing their teeth, children who attend afternoon care go to the dormitory for their nap/ midday rest, after which afternoon care begins.
